Delete Your Niro Account
Last updated: October 2026
This page explains how to delete your account in Niro, the anime and manga tracker for iPhone and Android, and what happens to your data. Deleting your Niro account does not delete your MyAnimeList (MAL) or AniList account.
Delete in the App
- Open Niro and sign in with the account you want to delete.
- Go to Settings, then Support & Feedback.
- Under Niro Account, tap Delete Niro Account.
- Confirm.
Everything is deleted at once and that phone is signed out. Other phones signed in to the account are signed out within about an hour. Deleting in the app needs Niro 1.13.0 or later.
Delete Without the App
If you can't use the app, email support@getniro.xyz with your MAL or AniList username. Niro accounts have no email address we can check, so we will reply with a short code and ask you to add it to the About section of that MAL or AniList profile. Once we see it there, we delete the account within 30 days and reply when it is done. You can then remove the code from your profile.
What Gets Deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes, from Niro's server:
- Your Niro account and its sign-ins, with the MAL and AniList user IDs, usernames and profile picture links it holds
- Your shelves, including shared ones (their links stop working), and other people's saved copies of them
- The shelves you saved from other people
- Your achievements and the list summaries used to award them
- The titles you follow for airing alerts, your push notification token and the record of notifications sent to you
- Which in-app messages you have seen
- Your settings stored on our server, such as English titles, time zone, quiet hours and list mode
- The records of your MAL sign-ins
- Any older, empty Niro account of yours left from an earlier sign-in with the same MAL or AniList account
On the phone you delete from, it also removes your sign-ins, cached lists and widget data.
What Is Kept, and for How Long
- Your MAL and AniList accounts, lists and activity. Niro does not change them. Those services have their own deletion options.
- Crash reports in Sentry. They hold your MAL or AniList user ID, but not your name, email address or IP address, and are deleted automatically within 90 days.
- Our hosting provider's server logs, which include IP addresses. They are deleted automatically after about a day.
- Shelf previews already posted in chats or on other websites, which those apps keep themselves.
If you sign in again later, Niro creates a new, empty account.
