Terms of Service

By using Niro, the app or getniro.xyz, you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Niro.

Use of the App

Niro is provided as a free application for discovering and tracking anime and manga content. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age to use online services where you live, to use it.

You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not misuse the app, its services, or third-party APIs.

Your MAL and AniList Accounts

Niro works with your own MyAnimeList (MAL) or AniList account, and your use of those services stays subject to their terms.

When you update your list, score a title, add a favourite, like a post, follow someone, rate a review, delete an activity or change your AniList settings in Niro, the app sends that change from your device to MAL or AniList at your request. You are responsible for those changes and for what you do on those services.

Niro is not responsible if MAL or AniList change, limit or end access to their services.

Your Niro Account

Signing in creates a Niro account that holds the data described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete it at any time in the app (Settings, then Support & Feedback) or, if you can't use the app, by emailing support@getniro.xyz. Deleting it also deletes your shelves, including shared ones, and cannot be undone. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or abuses the service.

Shelves and What You Share

Shelves you create are yours, and you are responsible for their names and descriptions. A shared shelf can be seen by anyone who has its link. Do not put anything in a shelf that:

• Is illegal, hateful, harassing or threatening
• Is sexually explicit
• Infringes someone else's rights
• Shares another person's private information

When you share a shelf, you allow us to host it and show it, with its preview image, to anyone who opens the link. We may make private or remove a shelf that breaks these rules. To report a shared shelf, email its link to support@getniro.xyz.

Community

Niro shows posts by other people: forum threads, comments, reviews and activity from AniList, and shelves that Niro users share. Niro has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not use Niro to harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or to spread anything the shelf rules above forbid.

• Posts from AniList are governed by AniList's own rules, and AniList's moderators decide what is removed. Anything they remove disappears from Niro too.
• Report, in the ⋯ menu of every post, hides the post in Niro on your phone and opens it on anilist.co, where AniList's own Report reaches its moderators.
• Block hides a person in Niro on your phone and leads to AniList's own Block, which applies everywhere. Niro also honours the blocks you make on anilist.co.
• Niro never posts, replies, likes or follows on your behalf without your action: every change it sends to MAL or AniList is one you made in the app.

Content & Data

Niro does not host its own anime or manga database. All content is sourced from third-party services, including:

• MyAnimeList
• AniList
• Tenrai
• AnimeSchedule
• AnimeThemes

Niro is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to any of these services. Titles, cover art and descriptions belong to their owners.

Content displayed in the app is provided by these third-party services. Niro does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data.

Mature Content

Some titles are meant for adults. Niro hides them unless you turn them on in Settings. Only turn them on if you are an adult where you live.

Donations

Niro may include an option to support the developer through voluntary donations, made on Buy Me a Coffee under its own terms.

Donations are completely optional and do not unlock additional features or functionality.

Third-Party Services

The app relies on third-party services such as MyAnimeList, AniList, Tenrai, AnimeSchedule, AnimeThemes, Supabase, Expo, Sentry and Vercel. The Privacy Policy explains what each one does.

By using Niro, you acknowledge that these services may process limited technical or usage data according to their own privacy policies.

If you downloaded Niro from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Misuse or overload third-party APIs through the app
• Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or exploit the app
• Try to reach other people's data or Niro's server in ways the app does not offer
• Use Niro to harass or impersonate anyone
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or third-party terms

Availability

Niro is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

We do not guarantee that:

• The app will always be available
• The app will be free from bugs or interruptions
• The content will always be accurate or up to date

We may change or remove features, or stop offering Niro, at any time.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Niro shall not be liable for any damages resulting from:

• Use or inability to use the app
• Errors or inaccuracies in content
• Service interruptions or API failures
• Changes made to your MAL or AniList account at your request

Changes to the Terms

These Terms of Service may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
